Position Overview:
Galen College of Nursing, located in Louisville, KY, is seeking a part-time Accounting & Finance Intern to join our finance team. This internship is designed for current college students interested in gaining hands-on experience in accounting and finance within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with accounts payable by collecting, coding, and entering vendor invoices into the accounting system.
- Test invoice approval exceptions and key invoices with Stampli AP & Procurement automation.
- Support biweekly check runs, including collecting signatures, stuffing checks, and taking checks to the post office as needed.
- Help maintain accurate accounts payable vendor records and support transition to electronic file-keeping.
- Data entry of general ledger journal entries for multiple entities.
- Assist with payroll processing and related administrative tasks.
- Perform multiple tasks simultaneously, work effectively in a team environment, and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and good judgment in all interactions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality to safeguard privileged and/or proprietary information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in college (freshman to senior year) pursuing any business major.
- High attention to detail and process orientation.
- Basic Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills preferred.
- Detail oriented with excellent ability to analyze data and circumstances
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong ability to communicate in writing and speaking, as well as good organizational skills
