- Community Living Director

The Community Living Director provides leadership and operational oversight for the Community Living Program of Wings, supporting adults with developmental disabilities in a structured independent living environment. This role manages the daily operations of the residential program while fostering a positive, mission-centered culture where every individual is valued, known, and supported. Working alongside staff, volunteers, families, and community partners, the Director helps residents grow in independence, life skills, and confidence while ensuring the program operates in alignment with the mission and values of Wings.
Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, lead, and manage Community Living staff
- Lead Community Living Program according to NCASES (accreditation) standards and all applicable state and federal regulations as required
- Develop policies and procedures along with Operations Director and be responsible for oversight of risk management of Community Living Program
- Prepare annual budget and operate according to budget
- Lead resident admissions, onboarding, and ongoing family communication
- Works cooperatively with Day Program regarding Community Living resident needs and concerns
- Works cooperatively with other departments concerning Community Living requirements
- Works cooperatively with 3rd party vendors working on behalf of residents [medical, food service, etc]
- Reviews and evaluates life enrichment activities
- Lead according to nonprofit model [volunteers, partners, sponsors, mission] with eagerness to develop peer relationships
- Recruits, trains, and leads volunteers
- Seek nonprofit and corporate partnerships for meaningful evening and weekend activity options
- Maintain Community Living resident schedules
- Transport Members in vehicles owned by Wings or coordinate transportation when needed
- Willingness to participate in a professional organization associated with Long-Term Care Professionals
- Responsible for regular transdisciplinary team/Members meetings and documentation
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Background or experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Ongoing research and organizational skills, attention to detail and problem-solving/analytical skills
- Working knowledge of office equipment and software knowledge
- Leadership, customer service and management skills are necessary for the position
- Ability to drive a passenger van
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Long Term Care Administrator License required [Wings will support licensing if needed]
