Description
Northside Animal Hospital is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Credentialed Veterinary Technician to our team. This role will be focused primarily in our thriving surgery department, but will also be responsible for handling technician appointments and supporting the rest of our technical team.Northside Animal Hospital is located in Hooksett, New Hampshire. They are a three doctor practice specializing in preventative care and wellness, medical case diagnostics, surgery (and are orthopedic capable), dentistry and imaging. They also offer a fully stock veterinary pharmacy, in-house lab work and ultrasound capacity! They've been a beloved part of the community for over 40 years and are dedicated to individualized care and a stellar customer and patient experience as well as industry leading staff retention. Northside Animal Hospital supports dogs, cats, and other small animals, as well as exotics!
Credentialed Surgery Veterinary Technician
Northside Animal Hospital in Hooksett, NH
Pay range: $24.00 - $28.00/hour
This role will work four days a week (no weekends!), Tuesdays and Wednesdays are required!
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones
- Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
- Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas
- Perform physical assessments and record your observations
- Prepare estimates for procedures and discusses financial commitments with clients
- Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions
- Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered
- Assist the Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures (be comfortable with blood draws; prepare patients for surgery; administer anesthesia; monitor patients during surgery and recovery; administer fluids)
- Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery
- Pharmacy skills, including protocols for filling in-house
- Monitors vitals by hand and with equipment
- Sample collection and processing for in-house and reference labs
- Communicates within the team, proactively advocating for their patient's needs

REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior anesthesia and surgery experience is a must!
- Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) required
