Description
Cats Limited - Veterinary TechnicianCats Limited is looking for a Veterinary Technician who doesn't just tolerate cats - you genuinely enjoy them, understand them, and want to keep building a career around feline medicine.
We are a feline-only, AAHA-accredited hospital in West Hartford, Connecticut focused entirely on feline medicine, behavior, handling, and creating a low-stress experience for both cats and their people. This is not a "mostly cats" general practice - our entire hospital is designed around how cats experience veterinary care.
From feline-friendly handling and behavior support to advanced diagnostics, radioactive iodine therapy, and second-opinion consultations, our team is deeply invested in continually improving the level of medicine and experience we provide.
We are looking for someone who is curious, emotionally intelligent, collaborative, and excited by the idea of becoming exceptionally good at feline medicine.
Our technicians are highly involved in:
- Diagnostics and patient workflow
- Blood draws and cystocentesis
- Ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
- Client education and communication
- Technician appointments
- Surgery and anesthesia support
- Feline handling and behavior-based patient care
- Advanced feline medicine and I-131 patient support
What makes Cats Limited different:
- Cat-exclusive, AAHA-accredited hospital
- No routine weekends
- 4-day work week structure
- Certified cat behavior expertise
- Strong technician utilization
- Long-tenured, collaborative team
- Doctors who encourage learning and curiosity
- Calm, feline-focused workflow and hospital design
- Clients who genuinely value the level of care and relationship built with the team
Our hospital includes:
- IDEXX ProCyte, Catalyst DX, and Sedivue
- Zomedica Truforma feline-specific diagnostics
- Ultrasound
- Digital radiography and digital dental radiography
- Companion laser
- Radioactive iodine (I-131) treatment program
- Traveling ultrasonographer for echocardiograms
- Advanced feline diagnostics and second-opinion consultations
The right fit is someone who notices subtle feline body language changes, enjoys the "why" behind feline medicine, and values communication and teamwork as much as technical skill.
Credentialed technicians are preferred, but experienced non-credentialed technicians are welcome to apply.
Compensation expected around $23-28/hour based on experience. We also have flexible schedules for the right candidate.
