Geriatrics Faculty Opportunity

The UTMB Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Geriatrics is dedicated to improving the health, independence, and quality of life of older adults through excellence in clinical care, education, and research. With 8 faculty, 8 advanced practice providers and 2 to 4 fellows per year, the Division provides comprehensive geriatric care across diverse settings, including ambulatory clinics, inpatient consult services, long-term care facilities, and the home environment through our Home Based Primary Care Program.
Geriatrics Faculty Opportunities
The UTMB Division of Geriatrics is seeking a full-time physician at the rank of Assistant Professor, Clinical Practice. This position emphasizes high-quality, age-focused clinical care, active participation in teaching, and engagement in the academic mission of the department. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of faculty focused on improving health outcomes for older adults and advancing excellence in geriatric education. Essential responsibilities include comprehensive outpatient and/or inpatient care, supervision and mentoring of fellows, residents and medical students, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and contribution to curriculum development. The Division partners closely with the Sealy Center on Aging, creating a vibrant academic environment that fosters collaboration and discovery
Educational Experience and Requirements
- M.D. or D.O degree from an accredited medical school.
- Fellowship trained and Board Certification or eligibility in Geriatrics.
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Valid State of Texas medical license.
- U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Experience in an academic medical center or teaching environment
Income Package and Community
Salary will be competitive, commensurate with Academic rank, experience, and qualifications. UTMB offers $0 contribution health insurance plans for individual subscribers and very attractive PTO packages. In
