- LMT for ICU Massage Therapy Team
Description
The Arts-in-Medicine (AIM) Program at the University of New Mexico is seeking a licensed massage therapist to join our ICU Massage Therapy team as a contracted vendor.
This therapist will provide compassionate massage therapy for critically ill patients in the adult Intensive Care Units (ICUs) at UNM Hospitals under the direction of the Program Director. Working in close collaboration with healthcare staff, program director, and massage therapy team, the therapist will provide light touch, session notes, and program documentation for each referral.
This role is ideal for a therapist who feels called to serve in a hospital setting and who has experience in working with individuals facing serious illness.
Schedule and Availability
- The AIM program follows an academic schedule:
- Fall Semester: September through mid-December
- Spring Semester: mid-January through mid-May
- Shifts are scheduled in 3-hour increments on:
- Wednesdays and Thursdays:
10:45 am – 1:45 pm
2:15 pm – 5:15 pm
- Wednesdays and Thursdays:
Semester schedules are set in advance to allow for consistency and coordination with clinical staff
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Current State of New Mexico Massage Therapy License
- Proof of professional liability insurance
- Experience with hospice, palliative care, and/or light-touch modalities strongly preferred
- Professionalism, sensitivity, and the ability to work collaboratively in a clinical environment
- Strong communication and documentation skills
