Ohio Hospice & Palliative Medicine locums opportunity supporting the hospice care team

Highlights

• Full-time weekday schedule with a defined 1:4 call rotation (nights/weekends)
• Ongoing assignment
• Team-based model with 3 APPs, home hospice nurses, and another attending to share the caseload

Practice Setting

• Work includes collaboration with the home hospice team at the Compassionate Care Center
• Shared coverage structure with another attending physician on the home hospice team

Schedule

• Monday-Friday coverage
• Standard daytime hours plus 1:4 call (nights and weekends)
• Full-time need beginning in the near term

Cases and Procedures

• Rotating responsibilities between inpatient hospice rounding and supporting the home palliative/hospice team
• Reviewing charts and completing patient evaluations for hospice/palliative care
• Recertification of hospice patients and end-of-life discussions
• Supporting nurses completing daily home visits
• Approximate volumes: 150 patients on the home hospice team (shared) and inpatient hospice census averages 6-8

Requirements

• MD/DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 5 years); Hospice & Palliative Medicine required
• Ohio license required; open to IMLC physicians with an active LOQ (will wait for license)
