Maximus is hiring for an Occupational Therapist (OT) for completion of assessments on behalf of the Public Assessor Option (PAO), in partnership with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services (MA EOHHS) /MassHealth Long-Term Services and Supports Program (LTSS). The OT will provide essential clinical leadership to ensure the delivery of high quality, person centered assessments across Massachusetts.
This role will conduct virtual evaluations, ensuring all assessments meet organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and evidence based clinical guidelines using the Time for Task (TTT) Tool.
The position is primarily focused on clinical assessments and functional evaluations to help determine eligibility into the MA EOHHS MH LTSS programs. The OT will observe and evaluate members' functional abilities, activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), cognitive status, mobility, safety risks, and support needs. All documentation of assessment findings and submission of completed assessments will be done utilizing the electronic assessment systems (e-CAS). This role is integral to maintaining clinical excellence and supporting the mission of the MA EOHHS program. This position will primarily remain virtual; however, it may require occasional field work to support program operations and business needs. Must maintain availability during standard business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) with availability for evenings and weekends depending on contract needs. This is primarily a remote position; however, occasional field-based work may be required within the assigned geographic service area. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to conduct in-home or community-based assessments as needed. Eligible business travel is reimbursed at the current IRS mileage rate, currently $0.76 per mile.

As the Public Assessors Option (PAO), we provide education to providers, conduct inperson comprehensive assessments, and offer call center support for the state of Massachusetts regarding the following LTSS programs:
Adult Day Health (ADH)
Adult Foster Care (AFC)
Group Adult Foster Care (GAFC)
Personal Care Attendant (PCA)
The PAO will serve as the point of entry option for processing the inquiries and initial contacts regarding the LTSS Programs, as well as being responsible for conducting timely, quality, consistent, and accurate Assessments to determine clinical eligibility for the LTSS Programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for completing medical and/or behavioral health assessments within contract requirements.
Conducts on-site, video call and/or telephonic assessments to determine an individual’s needs for services and supports, eligibility, level of care or related outcome.
Perform all job duties in compliance with Person First standards, HIPAA guidelines, and company confidentiality policies and procedures.
Travel may be required based on program contract requirements- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Preferred knowledge may include community support programs, long-term care assessment and level of care in medical, behavioral health or related programs.
Knowledge and understanding of medical and/or behavioral health diagnoses and prescribed medications.
Ability to collect data, define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Minimum Requirements:
Education and licensure requirements are based on program contract requirements and are outlined in job posting
Master's degree required
Current licensed therapist valid in the state of practice is required
Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
An active, unencumbered Occupational Therapy (OT) license in the state of Massachusetts
Minimum of 5 years of Occupational Therapy experience or equivalent relevant experience assessing functional status, mobility, cognition and activities of daily living
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Valid driver’s license and or reliable transportation for community-based assessments
Preferred Requirements
Proficiency in Adobe applications
Proficiency in Smartsheet
Familiarity with the Time to Task (TTT) assessment
Knowledge of functional and occupational performance assessments
Experience working with elderly adults and individuals with disabilities
Minimum understanding of the following:
Program clinical eligibility requirements for the MA EOHHS LTSS Programs (AFC/GAFC/ADH/ PCA)
Documentation requirements for Assessment processes, including physician and medical information forms or other TTT Tool documents;
Caregiver and Surrogate participation in the Assessment process;
Knowledge of home and community-based services (HCBS)
