HopeHealth, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is the largest independent nonprofit hospice and palliative care provider in New England, and a national leader in end-of-life care through its academic affiliation with Brown University’s Alpert Medical School. Founded in 1976, HopeHealth is the 2nd-oldest hospice organization in the country and will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026 with a fundraising campaign and celebratory events. HopeHealth employs nearly 600 medical, clinical, operations and administrative staff, headquartered in Providence and with offices in Wakefield, RI and Attleboro, MA. Through its strong partnerships with regional health care organizations, HopeHealth serves more than 13,000 patients, and 2,000 children and adults in grief support programs. These services cover the entire state of Rhode Island—including Block Island—as well as 60 towns in southeastern Massachusetts.
About the Position:
The Corporate & Foundation Relations Officer reports to the Chief Philanthropy Officer and is responsible for identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of local and national foundations and corporate donors and event sponsors. This position requires direct outreach to other departments including but not limited to the clinical, bereavement, facilities, and finance teams to develop partnerships on projects and grants. This position is responsible for the development of an annual corporate and foundation plan including prospecting to ensure increased revenue year over year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Manage a portfolio of current and prospective corporate and foundation contacts to identify the intersection of HopeHealth’s work with corporations’ and foundations’ priorities.
Create a range of proposals that support the operating needs of HopeHealth.
Participate in the development and implementation of the 50th Anniversary campaign.
Strategize with key project staff members and Senior Leadership to identify and prioritize annual operating, programmatic, and capital needs.
Continually identify new foundations and corporations whose funding priorities match HopeHealth’s needs annually; develop strategies for initial approach, cultivation, and proposal submissions.
Manage the grant cycle including proposal development and writing, submission, acknowledgement letters, and progress and final reports which set the stage for subsequent requests.
Coordinate meetings, site visits and tours for foundation and corporation representatives, including the creation of agendas, preparation, and talking points for HopeHealth staff.
Coordinate with HopeHealth’s project, program, and team leaders to develop accurate and persuasive narratives, budgets, and outcome measures.
Manage the grants timeline for all funded projects including working internally to ensure all goals, objectives, budgets, and timelines are met.
Identify and manage event corporate sponsorship solicitations, including proposals or applications that may be required.
Develop and implement strategies for regular communication and engagement with foundation and corporate representatives, which may include meetings, mailings and events.
Contribute articles to Philanthropy Newsletter and Annual Report of Giving, as needed.
Maintain accurate and current electronic files on the shared drive and in Raiser’s Edge.
Support all aspects of the Philanthropy department in team planning and goal setting, prospect management, proofreading and review, working at events and reporting to management and Board.

Requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
A proven fundraiser with a track record of closing five- and six-figure gifts.
Strong writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in database/CRM moves management, Microsoft 365, experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT a plus.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, creatively and flexibly in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, while also participating as part of a collaborative team.
High level of discretion and ethical approach to fundraising.
Ability to work successfully within a strong system and process-based organizational structure.
Strong alignment with HopeHealth’s mission, an interest in end-of-life care and commitment to the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Ability to travel throughout the state of Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts (primarily Bristol County, MA and Norfolk County, MA)
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically:
Bachelor's degree required
Three to five years’ successful experience managing corporate and foundation donor relationships.
Familiarity with local business environments and fundraising strategies and techniques.
