Description
The Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at Children’s National Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive patient care, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and to develop and evaluate individualized care plans. The practitioner must be credentialed by the medical staff and licensed for advanced nursing practice. This role collaborates closely with physicians and provides leadership within the specialty through participation in departmental initiatives and mentorship. Our ideal candidate will have pediatric and/or adolescent medicine experience.
Requirements
Master’s or Doctoral degree as Advanced Practice Nurse from an accredited University and eligibility for medical staff credentialing
Minimum of 0 years of experience as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the state(s) of clinical practice
CDS and DEA in state(s) of clinical practice. BLS certified
Required Skills/Knowledge
Strong knowledge of clinical specialty and services
Demonstrates clinical leadership skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Clinical Functional Accountabilities
Assess, diagnose, and manage patient care using evidence-based practice
Create and implement care plans; prescribe therapies and home care as needed
Monitor patient status and respond to changes
Perform credentialed procedures
Serve as a resource for patients, families, and staff
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality care
Administrative Functional Accountabilities
Precept APRN and PA students
Support staff with clinical guidance
Provide staff education
Contribute to quality improvement efforts
