• Gulfside Hospice – offering compassionate comfort and peace of mind at the end of life

Company History
First opened as Central Gulfside Hospice in 1988 with a first office in New Port Richey, Gulfside admitted its first patient in July of 1989. The first Thrift Shoppe opened in New Port Richey in 1992 with proceeds benefiting uninsured patients and families. Additional locations followed in 2001, 2003, and 2007. Palliative care was added as a service line in 2009. Gulfside's first freestanding inpatient unit, the Rucki Hospice Care Center, opened in Zephyrhills in 2010. The Tampa Bay Business Journal named Gulfside Nonprofit of the Year in 2011. In 2015 Gulfside became the first hospice in Pasco County to be awarded The Joint Commission Accreditation. Gulfside Home Health was added as a service line in 2018, accepting patients in Pasco County followed by Pinellas County. Gulfside Healthcare Services becomes the official company name in 2018, incorporating the range of services provided to the community. Gulfside is awarded the Certificate of Need to serve Hillsborough County in hospice services in 2024, followed by the Certificate of Need to serve Pinellas County in hospice in 2025. The Dr. Jay Weil Center for Hospice Care, a new 24-bed state of the art inpatient facility, opened in late 2025.
