Company History
In 1964, to honor the memory of Charles F. Kettering, great American inventor and activist for quality health care for all citizens, his son, Eugene Kettering and daughter-in-law Virginia, founded Charles F. Kettering Memorial Hospital.
As communities surrounding the hospital grew, so did the need for additional medical facilities. First, Kettering Memorial Hospital expanded its services with the opening of Sycamore Hospital in Miamisburg in 1978, Kettering College of Medical Arts, followed by Kettering Hospital Youth Services in 1997 (now Kettering Behavioral Medicine Center), as well as many other specialty facilities such as the Neuroscience and Cardiovascular Institutes. They came together as Kettering Medical Center.
In 1999, Kettering Medical Center joined forces with Grandview Medical Center - which includes Grandview and Southview Hospitals, Charles H. Huber Health Center and several other freestanding care centers.
