Whether you're an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), this is an opportunity to build your career in an established small-animal general practice with experienced medical professionals, mentorship, and opportunities to continue learning.
- 4 days per week
- Rotating Saturdays
- Consistent weekday schedule with shared weekend coverage
What You'll Do
You'll play an important role in supporting patients, clients, veterinarians, and your teammates throughout the hospital.
- Provide compassionate patient care, restraint, and veterinary nursing
- Assist with examinations, treatments, procedures, and appointments
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and sample collection based on training and experience
- Support in-house laboratory diagnostics and patient monitoring

- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Monitor hospitalized and surgical patients
- Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Educate clients on medications, treatments, and home care
- Support patient discharge and follow-up communication
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment areas
- Communicate effectively with veterinarians and the veterinary team
- Step in where needed to keep the hospital moving during busy periods
What We're Looking For
We're looking for veterinary professionals who bring a strong foundation in patient care and a genuine desire to grow.
- Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician experience preferred
- Experience in a veterinary hospital, animal hospital, general practice, or specialty setting
- Hands-on experience with animal restraint, venipuncture, laboratory work, medications, and patient care
- Surgery, dentistry, anesthesia, and hospitalized patient experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and client service skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Dependable, team-oriented, and willing to jump in where needed
- Commitment to Fear Free handling, patient safety, and compassionate care
- CVT credential preferred, but not required for experienced Veterinary Assistants and Technicians
- Ability and willingness to continue developing technical skills

- Cleaning, stocking, treatment preparation, and equipment maintenance
- Exposure to animal dander, fur, saliva, urine, feces, blood, and other bodily fluids
- Working with veterinary medications, cleaning products, and medical equipment
- Following PPE, safety, and infection-control procedures

At Bayshore, you'll have access to resources designed to support your continued development, including:
- Continuing education and professional development
- Support for expanding your technical skill set
- Mentorship and technician development opportunities
- Opportunities to grow into greater clinical or leadership responsibilities
